The aim of this website is to convey information about our school and give you an insight into a range of curricular and extra curricular activities carried out in our school. We hope that it will be beneficial to both parents and pupils alike. P7 pupils are particularly welcome, as this service will give you an idea of how our school operates and the facilities and educational opportunities it offers.
Saintfield High School was opened in 1958 and as it approaches its 50th anniversary remains a popular and over subscribed school serving the wider Saintfield community.

The school's programme of extra-curricular activities is compiled to appeal to the widest range of pupils' interests through clubs, societies, study groups and sport. This list includes: Scripture Union, Drama, French, Computer, Craft/DIY, Library and Fitness clubs. You will be able to find out more about these extra curricular activities by selecting the appropriate option at the left of the screen
We now offer a full range of well equipped general purpose rooms in which to deliver the curriculum. The three Science Laboratories have been completely refurbished to a very high standard. The Business Education Suite operates a network of RM-PC workstations linked to the internet and these are widely used by pupils in all subject areas. A modern Technology Block is equally well-equipped as an attractive additional teaching facility.

You may have noticed that we are in the process of building an extension to our school. This is due to be completed in 2006 and will provide us with improved art, music and drama facilities.

All subjects departments use computers allocated to classrooms to improve learning and teaching opportunities. Several rooms are now equipped with interactive whiteboards.

Many new references, non-fiction and fiction books, have been added to the shelves of a well stocked school library. This resource is widely used by pupils as a source of information for developing knowledge across the curriculum combined with reading for pleasure. The refurbished school cafeteria is a well used facility offering breakfast, break and lunch every day.
I hope you enjoy our website which is being constantly extended and edited. Further information can be obtained from the school at any time.
